On Wednesday, Southwestern Public Health reported at least 68 new COVID-19 cases since Monday with 53 resolved.
The death total is 155 since the pandemic began.
There were 16 new cases in St. Thomas, five in Dutton-Dunwich, four in Central Elgin, two in Aylmer and one in Bayham and Southwold.
The percent positivity rate in the region is 13.4 %.
There are 292 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 81 in St. Thomas, 59 in Woodstock, 35 in Tillsonburg, 22 in Ingersoll, 13 in Aylmer and East Zorra-Tavistock, 11 in Norwich, 10 in Central Elgin, Dutton-Dunwich and Zorra, nine in Blandford-Blenheim, seven in West Elgin, five in SW Oxford, four in Bayham and three in Southwold.
There are 12 resident cases and three staff case at Chartwell Oxford Gardens in Woodstock, four resident and two staff cases at Aylmer Retirement Residence, five resident cases at Park Place Retirement Home in Woodstock and 15 resident cases at Harvest Crossing Retirement Home in Tillsonburg and six patient cases at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital.
There are eight hospitalizations at this time, with none in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 30.6 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 11,518.
A total of 98,715 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 58.9 per cent.
There are 133.4 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 145.5 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 190.1 cases per 100,000 population and 156.7 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
