The province today (Wednesday) released a list of participating pharmacies dispensing Paxlovid, the COVID-19 antiviral pill, by a prescription.
There are five pharmacies in St. Thomas and one in Aylmer.
The pills are for individuals at a higher risk of severe disease or hospitalization due to the coronavirus.
In most cases, you must begin taking the pills within five days of symptoms.
The participating pharmacies are:
St. Thomas:
Real Canadian Superstore Drug Store Pharmacy, 50-1063 Talbot Street
Shoppers Drug Mart, 107 Edward Street
Shoppers Drug Mart, 410 Talbot Street
Shoppers Drug Mart, 204 First Avenue
Yurek Pharmacy, 519 Talbot Street
In Aylmer:
Ryan’s No Frills Drug Store Pharmacy, 657 John Street
Those eligible for assessment for antiviral pills include:
- Individuals aged 18 and over who are immunocompromised.
- Individuals aged 70 and over.
- Individuals aged 60 and over with fewer than 3 vaccine doses.
- Individuals aged 18 and over with fewer than 3 vaccine doses and at least one risk condition.
