With this being the Easter long weekend, here’s what’s open and what’s closed in St. Thomas and Elgin County.
All municipal buildings and offices in both St. Thomas and Elgin County are closed for the weekend but will reopen beginning Tuesday (April 19).
Banks and grocery stores, including Walmart, the Real Canadian Superstore, Metro, Foodland, FreshCo, Food Basics and M&M Food Market will all be closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday but will be open on Saturday and Easter Monday.
Shoppers Drug Mart at 410 Talbot Street will remain open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Briwood Farm Market will also remain open on Friday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Dairy Queen St. Thomas will be open all weekend from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. for all your Easter treat needs.
Lynhurst ESSO and Variety will be closed on both Good Friday and Easter Sunday but will be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Monday. They will also extend their hours to 10 p.m. Thursday and ask that customers refrain from returning empty bottles over the long weekend.
The LCBO will be closed Friday, Sunday and Monday but will be open Saturday, with the Beer Store closed Friday and Sunday and open both Saturday and Monday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Canadale Nurseries will be open all weekend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except on Easter Sunday where they’ll be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Family Flowers will be closed good Friday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday but will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
You are also reminded of some Easter themed events taking place this weekend, including the Annual St. Thomas Kinsmen Easter Egg Hunt and the Easter Egg Hunt Train being hosted by Port Stanley Terminal Rail.
