Southwestern Public Health reported at least 315 new COVID-19 cases since Wednesday of last week with 326 resolved.
There have been two new deaths in that time. The death total is 158 since the pandemic began.
There are 101 new cases in St. Thomas, 20 in Aylmer, eight in Central Elgin, three in Dutton-Dunwich and West Elgin, two in Southwold and one each in Malahide and Bayham.
The percent positivity rate in the region is 15 %.
There are 428 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 140 in Woodstock, 135 in St. Thomas, 36 in Tillsonburg, 24 in Aylmer, 22 in Ingersoll, 16 in Norwich, 14 in Central Elgin, 11 in Zorra, eight in East Zorra-Tavistock, six in West Elgin, four in Southwold and Blandford-Blenheim, three in Dutton-Dunwich and SW Oxford and one in Bayham and Malahide.
There are nine resident and two staff cases at Royal Oak Senior Living in St. Thomas, 29 resident and 11 staff cases at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Woodstock, eight resident and four staff cases at Woodingford Lodge in Ingersoll, eight resident and five staff cases at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock, four patient cases at Woodstock General Hosptial, three resident cases at Seasons Retirement Home in St. Thomas, six resident cases at Langdon Retirement Home in Woodstock, one resident and three staff cases at People Care in Tavistock and one resident case at Victoria Manor in Woodstock.
There are five hospitalizations at this time, with two in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 30.1 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 12,322.
A total of 99,997 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 53.4 per cent.
There are 195.5 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 190.2 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 316.8 cases per 100,000 population and 289.2 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
