A 52 year old St. Thomas man who began to overdose while operating his vehicle has been charged by police. The man is alleged to have consumed Fentanyl before passed out behind the wheel during a traffic stop.
The driver was administered Narcan by officers and was transported to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital for medical assistance.
Once in custody, a Drug Recognition Expert Officer determined the man was impaired.
As a result, the 52 year old has been charged with Operation While Impaired by Drug, and had his vehicle impounded.
