Aylmer Police are warning the public following an attempted scam targeting a local business.
The police service received the complaint from a business on Talbot Street West after a male caller contacted them to place an order including flower arrangement, chocolates, stuffed animal and gift cards.
The male paid with what was suspected to be a fraudulent card and requested the complainant then send photos of the gift cards in an attempt to reveal card numbers and complete the scam.
Thankfully the employee found the request to be suspicious and contacted police.
Further investigation revealed that it was in fact an attempt to defraud the business through the use of a fraudulent card.
