As a way to highlight the importance of the week and the work they do locally, the Salvation Army St. Thomas Citadel are hosting a community event on Wednesday as part of Emergency Preparedness week.
Running from 5 to 7 p.m., the special event will give attendees the chance to learn how to better prepare of an emergency, participate in tours of emergency response vehicles and take part in a free BBQ.
The Salvation Army’s Community Response Unit will be on hand, as well as vehicles from the St. Thomas Police, St. Thomas Fire Department and Medavie EMS.
The event will take place in the parking lot of the Salvation Army St. Thomas Citadel at 380 Elm Street.
