Young people looking to make a difference in their own community are now able to apply for the new Community First Scholarship.
President of 94.1 myFM’s parent company, My Broadcasting Corporation, Jon Pole says the idea is to help students that want to have a positive influence in their own communities across Ontario.
Pole says the $2500 scholarship will be a learning experience for both the students and him.
To be eligible, high school students must complete a form, share a 1-2 minute long recording about what community means to them and apply by June 3rd.
He says the audio portion should get the creative muscles moving.
The Scholarship will be awarded based on the content of the audio portion of the application.
Messages can be recorded on a phone recorder app or as a video.
