A special weather statement has been issued for St. Thomas and Elgin County due to significant rainfall expected today into this evening.
Environment Canada notes the rain will move in from the southwest this morning as a low pressure system approaches.
Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 30 mm are expected by the time the rain tapers to a few showers this evening.
Heavy downpours can cause water pooling on roads and motorists are reminded to give themselves extra time to reach their destination today.
