Southwestern Public Health reported at least 72 new COVID-19 cases since Friday with 167 resolved.
There was one new death, a St. Thomas man in his 80s. The death total is 165 since the pandemic began.
There are 23 new cases in St. Thomas, two in Aylmer and one in Central Elgin and West Elgin.
The percent positivity rate in the region is 15.24%.
There are 258 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 82 in Woodstock, 64 in St. Thomas, 34 in Tillsonburg, 19 in East Zorra-Tavistock, 15 in Central Elgin, 13 in Ingersoll, nine in Aylmer, six in Blandford-Blenheim, four in SW Oxford, three in Bayham and Zorra, two in Malahide and West Elgin and one in Dutton-Dunwich and Norwich.
There are 20 resident and 10 staff cases at Extendicare in Port Stanley, one resident case at Terrace Lodge in Aylmer, 44 resident and 16 staff cases at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Woodstock, 11 resident and two staff cases at Victoria Manor in Woodstock, nine resident and five staff cases at Elgin Manor, five residents at Oxford Gardens Retirement Home, 19 resident and two staff cases at Maples Home in Tavistock and six patient and one staff case at Woodstock General Hospital.
There are six hospitalizations at this time, with one in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 29.1 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 13,169.
A total of 100,521 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 53.6 per cent.
There are 117.9 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 138.1 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 150.2 cases per 100,000 population and 108.5 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
