With beautiful weather in the forecast, and Friday the 13th coming up tomorrow, the OPP are reminding motorists that more motorcycles will be sharing the roadway.
Acting Sgt. Ed Sanchuk says it’s up to everyone, whether you are on a motorcycle or in a car, to just drive safely and follow the rules.
And with Friday the 13th on the horizon, it’s important that everyone keeps their eyes peeled notes Sanchuk.
New data from the OPP shows that those on a motorcycle need to be extra mindful as well.
Over a 10-year period – 60 percent of the 326 fatal motorcycle collisions that took place in Ontario were determined to be at-fault for the motorcycle operator.
The OPP note 120 of the fatalities were collisions that involved a single motorcycle, with at least one other vehicle being implicated in the other 222 deaths.
