Southwestern Public Health reported at least 44 new COVID-19 cases since Wednesday with 37 resolved.
The death total is 165 since the pandemic began.
The percent positivity rate in the region is 12.26%.
There are 251 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 73 in Woodstock and St. Thomas, 30 in Tillsonburg, 17 in Ingersoll, 12 in Aylmer and Central Elgin, 11 in East Zorra-Tavistock, six in Blandford-Blenheim and SW Oxford, five in Zorra, three in West Elgin and one each in Bayham, Dutton-Dunwich and Norwich.
There are 23 resident and 10 staff cases at Extendicare in Port Stanley, 52 resident and 19 staff cases at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Woodstock, 11 resident and two staff cases at Victoria Manor in Woodstock, nine resident and five staff cases at Elgin Manor, six residents at Oxford Gardens Retirement Home, 20 resident and two staff cases at Maples Home in Tavistock and six patient and one staff case at Woodstock General Hospital.
There are six hospitalizations at this time, with none in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 28.9 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 13,267.
A total of 100,548 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 53.7 per cent.
There are 114.7 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 102.6 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 171.3 cases per 100,000 population and 144.6 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
