A traffic stop in the city Wednesday alerted officers of an impaired driver, resulting in the arrest of a 51 year old year old St. Thomas man.
Police report that Officers on Community Patrol pulled the man over and soon discovered he was impaired.
An open bottle of Vodka was located inside the vehicle, with police seizing a small amount of Cocaine from the driver during processing.
Breath samples taken at the station indicated the man had almost three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
He now faces multiple charges, including Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus, Drug Possession, Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor and Having Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available.
The man’s vehicle was impounded for seven days and he was released on an Appearance Notice for court.
