Southwestern Public Health reported at least 47 new COVID-19 cases since Monday with 43 resolved.
There was one new death, a female Oxford resident in her 90s. The death total is 167 since the pandemic began.
Eleven new cases were reported in St. Thomas, three in Aylmer, two in Central Elgin and one each in Bayham and Malahide.
The percent positivity rate in the region is 11.27%.
There are 192 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 62 in Woodstock, 49 in St. Thomas, 18 in Tillsonburg and Ingersoll, eight in Aylmer, seven in East Zorra-Tavistock, six in Central Elgin and SW Oxford, five in Norwich, three in West Elgin, Blandford-Blenheim and Zorra , two in Bayham and one each in Malahide and Dutton-Dunwich.
There are 23 resident and 10 staff cases at Extendicare in Port Stanley, one resident case at Goodness Retirement Living in St. Thomas, 58 resident and 21 staff cases at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Woodstock, 11 resident and two staff cases at Victoria Manor in Woodstock, nine resident and five staff cases at Elgin Manor, six residents at Oxford Gardens Retirement Home, 21 resident and two staff cases at Maples Home in Tavistock, three resident cases at Woodingford Lodge in Woodstock and four patient cases at Tillsonburg District Memorial Hospital.
There are eight hospitalizations at this time, with none in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 28.5 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 13,416.
A total of 100,548 residents in the region have had three doses of a vaccine or 53.7 per cent.
There are 88.2 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 84.6 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 115.0 cases per 100,000 population and 96.4 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
