It’s his second provincial election however, unlike 2018, debunking climate change is not the focal point of Dave Plumb’s campaign.
After more than two years of COVID-19 restrictions, Plumb stresses there are more important issues to focus on.
As the Freedom Party of Ontario candidate in Elgin-Middlesex-London, Plumb lists the four planks in the party’s platform.
The Belmont resident is the author of Inconveniently Screwed, which deals with what he refers to as the “fear-mongering and shameless deception” surrounding climate change.
While other parties fielding candidates in the June 2 provincial vote have outlined policies dealing with affordable housing, the Freedom Party of Ontario admits it has no specific strategy.
Plumb argues the issue should be affordable living.
He says housing should not be a government issue and, in fact, “government should get out of the way.”
Plumb adds the Doug Ford government has engaged in gross violations of individual freedom during the COVID-19 pandemic.
He stresses the goal of the party in the June 2 provincial election is to have whichever party gains a majority to take notice of the number of people who voted for the Freedom Party.
He says provincial laws need to be changed so these infringements upon individual freedom are less likely to ever happen again.
The Freedom Party of Ontario advocates for investigating and thoroughly evaluating the government’s response to the spread of the coronavirus.
Plumb has a Bachelor of Science degree from Western and has worked mainly in transportation and supply chain logistics.
