The way in which you apply for a background check through the Ontario Provincial Police is set to change.
Starting June 13th, the OPP will be moving record checks online in an effort to speed up the entire process.
This includes those needing a Criminal Record Check, Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, or a OPP Non-Parent Custody Check.
The fees remain the same and will be collected as part of the online application process.
The force notes it completes about 140 thousand record checks every year and the launch of the new online system will significantly streamline the application process for both their members and the public.
