Southwestern Public Health reported at least 12 new COVID-19 cases since Monday with 15 resolved.
The death total is 169 since the pandemic began.
The per cent positivity rate in the region has dropped to 5.07 per cent, compared to Monday’s report where it sat at 6.76%.
There are 74 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 21 in St. Thomas, 14 in Woodstock, eight in Ingersoll, seven in Central Elgin, five in West Elgin, four in East Zorra-Tavistock, three in Aylmer, Norwich, and Tillsonburg, two in Zorra and one each in Dutton-Dunwich, Malahide, Blandford-Blenheim and SW Oxford.
There are two patient cases at Alexandra Hospital in Ingersoll and 11 resident cases at Seasons Retirement Home in St. Thomas.
There are three hospitalizations at this time, with one in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 28.6 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 13,733.
A total of 18,665 residents in the region have had four doses of a vaccine or 32.9 per cent of those ages 60+.
There are 33.8 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 60.7 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 49.3 cases per 100,000 population and 36.2 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
