Few people know the downtown core of St. Thomas better than Earl Taylor.
As long-time chairman of the DDB, Taylor now wants to broaden his focus to the city as a whole and that is what has motivated him to declare his candidacy for councillor in the October municipal election.
He is a board member with the St. Thomas and District Chamber of Commerce and a member of the St Thomas Optimist Club.
Taylor has been a realtor since 1993 and has served on the city’s Municipal Heritage and Special Events committees.
In declaring his candidacy Taylor says, as a member of council, he would work to move the city forward.
As past president of the London and St Thomas Association of Realtors, Taylor knows the business and the importance of a good housing supply to make St. Thomas a most attractive place to live.
With his contacts in real estate, Taylor notes that is another benefit he can bring to the council chamber if elected.
Moving forward, Taylor stresses the need for the municipality to have a good working relationship with the provincial government.
Taylor adds his goal, if elected in the October 24 municipal election, is to represent the citizens of St. Thomas, listen to their suggestions and concerns and develop positive strategies.
