A new program being offered by the St. Thomas Public Library looks to get the minds and bodies of our local seniors moving.
Seniors’ Walk & Talk, which is hosted twice a month throughout the summer, invites our seniors to gather together at the Elevated Park for an hour of movement and conversation.
Mallory Pearce, Marketing and Communications Coordinator at the library explains how the idea for the local program came about.
With a number of physical and mental health benefits attached, Pearce notes the program gives attendees the chance to connect with other seniors in St. Thomas.
Pearce adds that no registration is required for Seniors’ Walk & Talk. Participants are asked to meet at the little free library at the Elevated Park beginning at 9 a.m.
The program will be moved indoors to the track at the Joe Thornton Community Centre should it rain during the scheduled date.
The next Seniors’ Walk & Talk is set to take place on Tuesday, June 28th.
