This week’s Destination Local Feature Sponsored by Elgin County Tourism and fueled by Lynhurst Esso and Variety is Grand Bend Speedway.
Grand Bend Speedway is a 1/4 mile paved Tri-Oval, built back in 1996 and located just 3 kms from Grand Bend at the Grand Bend Motorplex facility on its own property.
The track that was formerly dubbed “The Bull Ring” has been owned for the last 3 years, 2 of them inside a pandemic by Tabitha Van Bruwaene who says they moved their Sunday afternoon races in 2021 to Saturday nights at 7 because focusing on family enjoyment was important to them.
Overnight Camping is always an extra bonus and is included on Race Night with your Admission Ticket. There are racing divisions each week involving drivers ranging in age from 10 to over 50 and she says showing the racers that the track cares, hopefully keeps them coming back.
The track also offers the Around the Bend Driving Experience which General Manager Gord Bennett says gets you right behind the wheel.
Plenty more information on the driving experience, plus a full season schedule and prices can be found at grandbendspeedway.ca.
