Things are cool in long-term care homes operated by the City of St. Thomas and Elgin county.
Homes across Ontario were required to install air conditioning in all residents’ rooms by June 23.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Long-Term Care says 98 of the province’s 627 long-term care homes missed that deadline.
myFM reached out to Julie Gonyou, Elgin county CAO, who confirmed the three county-operated homes are in compliance.
We also caught up with Michael Carroll, Valleyview Home administrator in St. Thomas who likewise advised the residents’ rooms are all air conditioned.
