The recent overturning of the Roe v Wade decision in the United States has brought the issue of abortion to the forefront.
Many leaders and organizations denounced the decision by the US Senate, including the Ontario Coalition for Abortion Clinics.
myFM sat down with spokesperson Carolyn Egan who tells us despite seeing the leaks that this would happen, the news was devastating.
She says to this day, people are still dying after receiving abortions from places not properly equipped to handle the procedure.
Egan adds the decision may have been based in the US, but the organization has been fighting the issue for a long time as areas of Canada are still struggling with the topic of abortion.
The OCAC believes that everyone should have the option to decide what they want to do when it comes to having children, and laws need to be in place to protect the decision.
