This week’s Destination Local Feature Sponsored by Elgin County Tourism and fuelled by Lynhurst Esso and Variety is The Track to the Future Mural Festival.
Taking place this Saturday in St. Thomas, watch live as murals come to life!
Discover pop-up events, artisans, local food, free live music, immersive and interactive art in addition to the anticipated creation of new murals around the community.
The free event is a celebration of the Track to the Future Mural project undertaken by Railway City Tourism.
The project has seen a number of mural already installed across St. Thomas, helping to not only beatify the city, but tell its story.
Megan Pickersgill, Tourism Manager uses the mural outside the Veterans Memorial Garden as a example.
With at least nine new murals set to take shape in the city on Saturday, Pickersgill says residents will be encouraged to look past the art and find the meaning.
The debut festival runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with more details available through our Community Spotlight Feature or at RailwayCityTourism.com.
