Southwestern Public Health reported at least 120 new COVID-19 cases since July 13 with 102 resolved.
There were three new deaths in the past week. The death total is 173 since the pandemic began.
The per cent positivity rate in the region is 11.38 per cent. Per cent positivity below 5% suggests few undetected cases in the community.
There are 166 ongoing cases in the health unit’s coverage area with 75 in Woodstock, 32 in St. Thomas, 21 in Tillsonburg, 10 in Aylmer, seven in Ingersoll, five in Blandford-Blenheim, three in Central Elgin and East Zorra-Tavistock, two in Bayham, Norwich and Zorra and one each in West Elgin, Dutton-Dunwich, West Elgin and SW Oxford.
There are 37 resident and 16 staff cases at Caressant Care Nursing Home in Woodstock.
There are three hospitalization at this time, with none in ICU. Of the cases hospitalized since the pandemic began, 28.1 per cent were admitted to the ICU.
The number of resolved cases is 14,065.
A total of 24,481 residents in the region have had four doses of a vaccine or 43.0 per cent of those ages 60+.
There are 75.8 ongoing confirmed cases per 100,000 population in the SWPH region as compared to 87.5 per 100,000 in the Middlesex-London Health Unit region. The crude rate for St. Thomas is 75.1 cases per 100,000 population and 120.5 cases per 100,000 population for Aylmer.
