On the same day OPP urged motorcyclists to make safety a priority, a Port Stanley resident was killed in a collision in St. Thomas.
Around 8:30 Thursday evening, Elgin OPP responded to an incident involving two vehicles.
A motorcycle heading westbound on Elm Street collided with an SUV turning left onto Coulter Avenue.
The motor cycle operator, 34-year-old Nicholas Cheeseman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are continuing with their investigation.
Earlier in the day, OPP had advised to date this year, 12 motorcyclists have died in collisions in West Region, compared to seven deaths over the same period last year.
