With the reconstruction project of Forest Avenue still underway in St. Thomas, the city has advised of a planned closure of First Ave.
For the next couple weeks, First Avenue will be closed at Forest in order for the city to complete surface restorations.
During the closure a detour route will be set up using Wellington, Fairview and Chestnut. The city does note that the roadway is expected to reopened before the start of school.
Phase one of the Forest Avenue construction project, spanning from First Ave to Daugharty Drive is expected to wrap up in September, with phase two’s completion date planned for November.
More details on the construction project can be found here.
