The Ontario government is extending its deadline for child-care operators to apply for the $10-a-day program.
In a letter sent to municipalities and obtained by The Canadian Press, the province says the deadline has been extended from September 1st to November 1st.
Many child-care operators have said they want to sign up to ensure parents can see savings, but are hesitant about the implications to their business.
A senior government source says those who have already opted out will be able to rethink their decision in light of the changes and opt in, if they choose.
