Today at 2 p.m. is the final deadline to submit nominations in Ontario for candidates who hope to run in municipal elections this fall.
Nominations for school board trustee candidates have the same cutoff date and time.
Candidates who are running for positions without any opponents will be elected by default at 4 p-m on Monday.
Voters are also reminded that they must be registered to cast a ballot in the 2022 Municipal Council and School Board elections taking place October 24th.
If you are a resident, owner or tenant of property in Ontario, a Canadian citizen and 18 years of age or older election day, you can vote.
To make sure you’re on the list of registered voters, visit voterlookup.ca, where you’ll be asked to submit basic information such as name and address.
If you are not registered, the same site will help you do so.
The voters’ list will be prepared on September 1st, 2022. If you want to add, remove, or change your listed information on or after September 1st, you’ll need to contact your municipal clerk.
