In an effort to find homes for the cats and kittens already housed at Animal Aide and to make room for those coming in, the local shelter is hosting a Clear the Cages event.
Running until September 7th, Ashley Thornton the Operations Manager at Animal Aide explains the event comes as their cages are completely full.
During the event, Thornton notes discounted adoption fees are being offered to individuals who are hoping to add a new addition to their home. While they are able to offer a little discount because we all know money is tight right now, Thornton explains why adoption fees are necessary.
She adds that all the cats and kittens at Animal Aide are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccinations, have been treated for all parasites, given a medical and dental checkup and come with a 7 day health guarantee.
Thornton says as a special bonus to their Clear the Cages event, they’ll be hosting a community open house from 3 to 8 p.m. on September 2nd.
With roughly 800 cats coming through their door on a normal year and them being projected to hit over 1000 by years end, Thornton adds that any help is appreciated.
