A 33 year old St. Thomas man was sentenced to 189 days in custody Tuesday following an assault that took place back in April.
Officers on Community Patrol arrested 33 year old Jeremy Porter after he was alleged to have thrown a rock at a vehicle travelling down Talbot Street, then subsequently assaulting the driver with a sharpened stick as they stopped to assess the damage.
The driver was later transported to hospital by ambulance for their injuries.
As a result, he was charged with eleven offences including Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, Aggravated Assault, Uttering Threats to Cause Death, Mischief Under $5000, Fail to Comply with Release Order and six counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order.
On Tuesday Porter pled guilty to one count of Mischief Under $5000 and Assault Cause Bodily Harm, with the other charges withdrawn.
