The St. Thomas Stars kicked off their 2022/23 campaign in solid fashion Thursday night with a 2-0 shutout victory over the Leamington Flyers. The game was heard live on 94.1 myFM, brought to you by Simply Pure Water.
Nick Houben and Callum Snedden each scored for the Stars in the first period. Those two goals would prove to be enough as Wyatt Sloetjes made 38 saves between the pipes, earning the shutout.
The Stars are right back in action Friday night at the Joe Thornton Community Centre. Their home opener will see them take on the Komoka Kings, with puck drop slated for 7:30pm.
