A 30-year-old St. Thomas woman is facing multiple charges after attempting to flee OPP Monday evening in Grand Bend.
Police had received numerous complaints regarding an erratic driver. Middlesex OPP located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop when the motorist took off.
She was stopped through the use of a spike belt in Grand Bend.
The determined driver then struck police cruisers while attempting to again flee the scene.
A search of the vehicle revealed large amounts of suspected cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin. The vehicle had also been reported stolen from the London area.
Miranda Lewanick faces the following charges:
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
- Operation while impaired
- Flight from a peace officer
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
- Four counts of possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking
- Possession of a Schedule 1 substance
- Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
- Assault a peace officer with a weapon
- Two counts of failure to comply with undertaking
