Police say 268 people have died on OPP patrolled roads this year as of the beginning of October.
OPP say that marks a 24% increase in driving fatalities compared to this time last year.
They say 69 of the deaths have been speed-related, 57 were related to inattention, 40 were related to alcohol or drugs and another 40 were related to a lack of seatbelt use.
