The London District Catholic School Board has cancelled a cross country meet for 8,000 students due to a shortage of bus drivers.
Board chair Linda Steel says the board is now giving many months’ notice to transportation companies when planning other extracurricular events due to the shortage that’s also affecting other parts of the province.
Last month, Kevin Murray, branch manager at First Student Canada in St. Thomas told myFM he did not anticipate any disruption to scheduled shcool bus services as they have sufficient drivers as well as spare drivers to cover their runs.
