A 70-year-old St. Thomas man has been charged following the death in July of a city firefighter in a two-vehicle collision.
On the evening of July 28, Elgin OPP were called to the intersection of Elm Street and Coulter Avenue.
A motorcycle heading westbound on Elm Street collided with an SUV turning left onto Coulter Avenue.
The motorcyclist, 34-year-old Nicholas Cheeseman was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was a four-year member of the fire service. Cheeseman was married with a five-month-old son, with the family residing in Port Stanley.
Joseph Grzegorczyk has been charged with careless driving causing death and will appear in St. Thomas court at a later date.
