A union representing 55,000 Ontario education workers says it has requested what’s known as a “no board” report. That could put the union representing workers like custodians, librarians and early childhood educators in a legal strike position in less than three weeks.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees says two days of talks with the government after members returned a 96.5% strike mandate ended at an impasse.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce meanwhile, has called the union’s demands unreasonable.
