The provincial government says it’s introducing mandatory Holocaust learning in Grade 6 to help counter rising antisemitism and hate in schools across Ontario.
Education Minister Stephen Lecce says adding Holocaust studies to the social studies curriculum at elementary schools for the first time next fall will help challenge biases and discrimination at an earlier age.
The province is also expanding resources and strengthening anti-hate training for Ontario students, educators, and families.
