A strike has been averted at Western.
Western University and the University of Western Ontario Faculty Association have reached a tentative agreement.
As a result classes will proceed as scheduled today.
The faculty association and the university’s board of governors will soon vote on whether to ratify the agreement.
The association represents about 1,500 full- and part-time faculty members including professors, librarians and archivists.
A strike deadline had been set for 11:59 p.m. Monday.
