Health Minister Sylvia Jones says wearing a mask in public places is a personal choice and people should not be passing judgment on those who do or don’t wear one.
Jones made the comment after most of her Progressive Conservative colleagues did not wear masks in the legislature Tuesday — including Premier Doug Ford.
That stands in contrast to a recommendation made yesterday by Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore that people mask indoors to help protect young children from a triple threat of respiratory illnesses and to ease pressure on pediatric hospitals.
Ford said Sunday that Ontarians should wear a mask every time possible but when asked why he didn’t have one on in the legislature, a spokeswoman said Jones addressed it.
