The Elgin Business Resource Centre is making its pitch to startups and expanding businesses in St. Thomas and Elgin county.
The idea is to pitch their business plan to the EBRC.
Appropriately it’s called The Pitch and EBRC general manager Kevin Jackson explains the concept.
Wildflowers Tea, The Ice Box, Smart Dental Hygiene, Century Chocolates, Shebaz’s Shawarma and Streamliners Espresso Bar have one accomplishment in common.
They are past winners of the Elgin Business Resource Centre annual business plan competition known as The Pitch.
And, there is an exciting new incentive for the five finalists this year, explains Jackson.
The top 5 finalists are invited to pitch their business plans to a panel of judges at a “dragon’s den” style grand finale.
Jackson tells myFM what it’s like to be a judge.
Jackson explains the significance of the grand prize this year.
But, adds Jackson, there really are no losing entries in The Pitch.
Deadline for submission of business plans is 4 p.m. on Nov. 30.
