An Elgin OPP festive RIDE checkpoint in Central Elgin proved especially productive early Friday morning.
Officers stopped a vehicle after it appeared the driver was attempting to avoid the checkpoint. The female motorist from London refused to provide a breath sample and was taken into custody. During their search of the vehicle, police found items reported stolen from a business on Main St. in Port Stanley.
She has been charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000 and refusing to comply with a demand. She will appear in St. Thomas court at a future date.
