As city staff began work on the 2023 budget, residents were encouraged to answer a few basic questions about their expectations for the coming year.
During October, approximately 600 people participated in the online survey and at last Monday’s council meeting Dan Sheridan, the city’s director of finance, presented the results. Topping the list with 23% of respondents was the plight of the homeless and the state of the downtown core.
At the other end of the spectrum, only one per cent of respondents sought more spending on arts and culture.
