Animal Aide is holding a promotion, in hopes of finding loving homes for their cats this Christmas.
Operations Manager Ashley Thornton says it’s the time of year that they hope they can clear out a few cages.
The hope of the campaign is to find homes for cats that are 5 years of age and older, in time for Christmas.
Thornton says cats should not be treated as Christmas presents. She says there have been situations in the past that have seen the cats returned to the shelter after being gifted to someone.
She says since the pandemic, they have seen the number of cats in the shelter significantly increase.
The ‘Home for Christmas’ promotion runs until the end of this weekend. The reduced adoption fee for cats 5 years of age and older is $180.
Animal Aide is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and Saturday.
Visit them at 333 Talbot St. in St. Thomas or call (519) 633-3788.
