Elgin County OPP are investigating a fatal collision involving a passenger vehicle and a cyclist.
On Monday around 6:30am, a cyclist was struck on Wellington Road, between Ferguson Line and Shorlea Line. The cyclist died as a result of the collision.
Central Elgin Fire Chief Ray Ormerod tells myFM two of his firefighter who live nearby went right to the scene north of St. Thomas.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team was on scene to assist with the investigation.
Ormerod describes the road and weather conditions when crews arrived.
Wellington Road was re-opened to traffic shortly after 2 p.m.
