With the triple threat of COVID, cold and flu and other respiratory ailments this winter, relief is on the way.
Not only for those suffering, but also helping to ease pressure in the emergency department at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital.
The Elgin Ontario health Team is opening three care clinics explains executive director Deanna Huggett.
While their initial focus is on COVID, flu and cold, the opening of three care clinics in St. Thomas and Elgin is possibly a forerunner of things to come.
The clinics provide alternative accessible care options for residents experiencing respiratory illness, advises Huggett.
Huggett stresses they are not walk-in clinics – appointments are necessary – instead staff test, assess and provide treatment.
