Southwestern Public Health is undertaking a study to determine the feasibility of locating one or more consumption and treatment centres in the region.
These facilities are places where people with lived experience of substance use can access supervised consumption services and wrap-around supports linking them to health and social services.
The health unit is looking for residents interested in being involved in a focus group to discuss and explore the feasibility of a site in St. Thomas or Elgin county.
Southwestern Public Health is looking for the community’s support to explore ways to address drug-related overdoses, injuries, and infections.
The health unit will be updating the public on the feasibility study.
