For more than 100 years, March 8 has been a day to celebrate the accomplishments of women and promote gender equality.
To commemorate International Women’s Day this year, the Elgin Business Resource Centre is hosting a Together We Rise evening Monday, March 6 at the Princess Playhouse Theatre.

International Women’s Day was first celebrated by the UN in 1975 and it is now the primary sponsor of the March 8 commemoration.
