Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, launched in 1995, is dedicated to inspiring a love of reading by gifting books free of charge to children up to the age of five.
And now the Kiwanis Club of Port Stanley is hosting the program in that community.
Kathryn Kenney of the Kiwanis Club explains the motivation behind the launch of the program for residents of Port Stanley.
For Port Stanley parents and caregivers interested in signing up youngsters under the age of five, application forms are available at the Port Stanley branch of the Elgin County Library.
As of the end of January, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library had gifted over 199 million books to youngsters in five countries.
Kenney tells myFM how the Imagination Library operates.
Kenney stresses the program through the local Kiwanis Club is only available to families who reside in Port Stanley.
She advises they will host a free skate and sign-up for the program next week in Port Stanley.
