Four officers required treatment in hospital Saturday following the arrest of two individuals in the city’s north end.
St. Thomas Police were called to a residence around 9 p.m., where upon speaking with the parties involved, attempted to arrest 31 year old James Bentley for assault.
Bentley began to resist, became combative and assaulted two officers in the process.
While police attempted to control the male, 56 year old Linda Bentley began to obstruct the arrest, resulting in additional officers being called to assist.
31 year old James Bentley has been charged with Assault (Spousal), Assault Peace Officer x 2, and Resist Peace Officer.
56 year old Linda Bentley has been charged with Assault Peace Officer and Obstruct Peace Office.
Both James and Linda Bentley were released with conditions and a future court date, while the four officers were released from hospital and returned to duty later that day.
