Earth Day is April 22 and locally a number of organizations have partnered to present Climate Change: Calls to Action.
An event aimed at raising awareness about climate change by offering information and resources followed by a city clean-up project.
It’s a collaborative effort under the banner of Community Conversations, explains Dana Vanzanten of St. Thomas Public Library.
She adds, “We’re thrilled to bring this event to the community on Earth Day.”
Coming to grips with climate change and its local impacts can be overwhelming. In particular engaging with it in a way that makes a difference.
That’s the impetus behind Climate Change: Calls to Action. Vanzanten explains what is on tap that day.
She stresses it is important to demonstrate what can be done on a personal level.
The event runs April 22, 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Horton Farmers Market and the Ignite Youth Centre.
